Have you asked yourself  “what am I working toward with my MLM”?

What are you worth?

What are your dreams worth?

Are your goals written down and frequently examined?  Are you following a plan to reach those goals?  Are you inspired every day to keep moving toward your dreams?

I recently returned to Napoleon Hill’s “Think And Grow Rich”, and again found myself staring at his works with awe and feeling the re-stoking of the flames of desire within me that make me get up each day to face new challenges.  I hadn’t lost the fire… simply I found that his book added more volatile timbers to the blaze…

As I re-read this great work – one of the first of it’s kind on self help and motivation -  I recounted what life has provided me in the form of challenges and took stock again of what are my reasons for being.

In the realm of MLM, this is often regarded as the”Why”.  Why are you doing network marketing?  What are your reasons?  Family?  Financial freedom?  Fire your boss and work for yourself?  Simply add income to your month?

Most “Why” answers are valid (most are  moral, legal and honest).  Everyone who pursues the life of an entrepreneur has a very strong “Why”.

The question then becomes… how do you value your time and effort?  Are doing what is necessary to get to your “Why”?

Are you content to get by and be comfortable?   Or are you driven to succeed by a desire that gets you out of bed early each day, work diligently all day long and collapse in bed late into the night, day after tiring day, with the end goal always in focus?

Many people get into network marketing with little feeling of what they’re worth.  They don’t put a monetary value on their time and effort…. wishing for success without considering how to pursue it.  They ask little of themselves, and don’t pursue anything with an unstoppable passion because of a weak self image of their value.

“Think And Grow Rich” aims to inspire people to build a dream and never let go of it.  The book pushes readers to identify their monetary value and passion to achieve that success.  The poem below – found within the pages of Hill’s work exemplifies this indentification of self…

MY WAGE

I bargained with Life for a penny,
And Life would pay no more,
However I begged at evening
 When I counted my scanty store;

For Life is a just employer,
He gives you what you ask,
But once you have set the wages,
Why, you must bear the task.

I worked for a menial's hire,
 Only to learn, dismayed,
That any wage I had asked of Life,
 Life would have gladly paid.

- Jessie B. Rittenhouse

What this prose reminds us is that we are worth what we ask.  If we are content to make ends meet and live pay check to pay check, and unwilling to ask more of ourselves, we get what we have requested.  When we dream, work comes with reaching that dream.

It’s when we push beyond our so called limitations (limitations are only what we allow ourselves to believe about ourselves, and can be removed at any time we choose to remove them) that we are able to develop and expand what we truly feel our financial potential to be.

Limitations?  MLM?  You know, those “fears” (FEAR= False Expectation Appearing Real)…  Like calling people on the phone, fear of rejection, fear of failure?  You limit yourself by letting your fears control you.

Newsflash!  Everyone gets what they deserve – what they work for!  If you work harder and smarter than everyone else, you’ll be rewarded for it.  If you sit around and wish for success, you’ll be sitting in the same spot at this time next year (maybe even re-reading this article).

It’s the beginning of the year.  You have a choice to make… stay where you are, or take a small – maybe uncomfortable – step and start pursuing your dreams.

If this is hard for you to do, it’s possible that you need someone to work with who will help you on your journey. That’s okay.  Even Michael Jordan had coaches!

I encourage you to build yourself, and in the process reach the fulfillment of your dreams.  Do something you haven’t done before… try a new approach… learn skills that will change you and make you a more “attractive” network marketer: become “that person” you wish you could be.

YOU are the only obstacle that can stop you.  Become the irresistible force that can overcome any obstacle!
