Your 2010 MLM Success Depends On Your MLM Education

What is success?  How do you achieve it?

Well, it all depends on who you talk to.  What’s your idea of success?

You might be successful in your relationships, marriage, faith, athletics, spirituality, losing weight… there are many areas of life to strive to reach a goal that, to you, equals success.

In the MLM business world, success may be measured in numbers of customers and down line reps you have.  It may be a certain monthly volume of sales, a certain monthly commission income.  You might even base your perception of success on how successful the reps in your down line are with your assistance and coaching.

I recently re-read Napoleon Hill’s best  seller “Think And Grow Rich”, a compilation of the attributes of more than 500 of the early 20th century’s richest and most successful industry magnates.  From more than 25 years of research,  Hill puts together one of the earliest books on self help.

Hill talks often of “the secret” given to him by Andrew Carnegie, and sets out to discover the steps that make a person capable of attaining financial success.

His subjects, although financial tycoons of his era, were not just successful in respect to industry.  He chose industry leaders, politicians, and people who had overcome significant hardship or disadvantage to achieve success – financial, spiritual, emotional, or other.  All intimately knew “the secret”.

Okay… I know the title mentioned “education”, and some of you are astute enough to realize that Henry Ford did not have much education.   In fact, many of the 500+ studied industry leaders didn’t even have high school education.  Would you believe Thomas Edison had only 3 months of formal education?

There is something to be said for formal education, but it is minimal to education of self that is necessary for success.  Every self made millionaire will tell you that what enabled them to achieve success.

Achieving MLM success is no different than any other industry.  It doesn’t rely on chance.  It doesn’t happen because of luck.   Network marketing success happens due to hard work and a conscious decision to stay on task until you succeed.

I’ve seen may people do so much work, put in time and effort, and give up just before they reach the top of the hill where they finally see the benefit of their work.  What a sad moment indeed.  Just persisting through the pain a little longer is all it would have taken.

When you feel the most like it can’t be done… when you are ready to give up… when that nagging little word “impossible” starts to gain momentum in your mind… that is the most important and defining moment of your character.  Are you a quitter – like 97%+ of people who join an MLM -  or are you willing to endure the suffering that will take you into the 3% who reach success?

“Think and Grow Rich” covers multiple examples of situations where one of his subjects hits the point of “failure” and pushes on.  Many floundered for years without wavering in their determination to succeed.   Hill also points out instances where his subjects quit just as they neared the tipping point and never enjoyed the results of their efforts.

Your education is multi-faceted:  it must cover learning about your Network Marketing company, products and comp plan, how to effectively prospect  and ATTRACT people to your opportunity, how to be a leader (you are your own company leader, so you must learn how to effectively lead), how to market online and in your local market… the list is quite extensive, and doesn’t happen overnight.

Most people in network marketing never get past learning about their company and products, which is why so many fail.  More than 100,000 people around the world join an MLM every day, and have either quit or moved onto the next opportunity within 90 days because they don’t have the requisite education of how to persevere until they find success!

I strongly encourage you to NOT end up like the 97,000 people who – 90 days from today – will have failed again.  Get your MLM education… learn from people that have succeeded doing what you want to do.
