Training people in the MLM industry, I get asked asked this question frequently.

“What’s wrong with what I’m doing?”

I often get emails like the following:

Warren, I’m on the phone at least 10 times a day with no sign ups.  I send them emails with my company’s presentation on them. No one wants to close the deal. Either people tell me they’re not interested when I follow up or I can’t ever get a hold of them again. The majority don’t review the information and keep putting me off. Regardless of how good the meeting or conversation goes, no-one signs up.   I don’t know what my problem is. !

So…. what’s going on here?

The main thing that comes to mind is this:  Are the 10 conversations per day qualified, or are they just targets?

Here’s the reality of the situation…

You’re either approaching cold prospects who have no interest in the MLM industry (and you didn’t ask questions to find that out their qualification) or you’re “attracting” 10 new people a day with your untrained advertising who are already involved in the industry but are not actively looking for what you have.  They may become prospects in the future, but they’re not today.

If you purchase lead lists… good luck!   They’re more likely to be “suspects” at best.

However, if you’ve created a lead funnel like what I help people create at MLM Growth Explosion, or you’re using something like PPC, then you’re getting QUALITY prospects … and 10 leads a day like that might just be the real deal!

People often wonder why they can’t get reps signed up when they send their pre-packaged company presentations.

Read this carefully – several times if necessary:  people seldom watch a “company presentation”  and feel inclined to immediately sign up.

That’s not the way it works.

Network marketing is a RELATIONSHIP business. You have to make connections with people. GET ON THE PHONE and make yourself stand out from the rest…

If you want to attract leaders… then be one and let your prospects hear it in your voice.

Don’t rely on company presentations.  You have to put some of YOU into it. People want to join with a leader…not a company.  If you’re looking for MLM rockstars you must be THE leader others want to follow.

Simple as that.

Another problem I hear often: “When I follow up people tell me they’re not interested or I can’t get in touch with them. Or the complaint is  that their “prospects” never review the information and keep stalling”.

So… why does this happen?

Either they never were a real prospect in the first place (you didn’t qualify them) OR you didn’t ask them their REASON WHY and create a RELATIONSHIP with your prospect. In other words, they’re viewing you as a salesman rather than the leader who will help them get to where they want to be .

People frequently mention carrying on great conversation with leads but aren’t able to get them closed.

I see this a lot, especially with inexperienced networkers, usually when they “LISTEN” to their prospects… but fail to direct the flow of conversation.

You’re not there to be a sounding board, or to “chit-chat.”

Our job is to interview and qualify our prospects. In the process of doing this, we build a relationship, but that doesn’t mean we be their best buddy .

Direct the flow, by asking GOOD QUESTIONS… and in the process qualify-qualify-qualify! If the answers you’re getting are not to your liking, you should be on and off that phone in 2 minutes or less. The majority of network marketers waste too much time talking with the wrong people.  Don’t let that be you.

If you want to sponsor more, take a hard look at your process.  What’s good about your process?  What’s bad?. And what are you NOT doing?

If you still have questions, get in touch with me.  Let’s see if we can get you some answers.

I had trouble sponsoring reps too – just like you’re going through right now – until I saw this free 1 hour video and read the report  http://recruitmorereps.mlmgrowthexplosion.com
